The schedule will be adapted to the participants - this is just a preliminary version.

Preparation (1st of June - 1st of Aug)

We will have monthly video calls (three in total) with participants prior to the workshop to get to know each other and plan individual contributions.

Field School (8th of Aug - 15th of Aug)

08.08 (Sat): Arrival

Pick up at KEF International Airport and travel to the lodging facility in northern Iceland.

09.08 (Sun): Connection

Personal Stories: Who am I? Why am I here?

10.08 (Mon): Nature

Listening and Connecting with Nature (Outdoor Activities): How do mountaineering, field scientists, and Indigenous participants engage with nature?

11.08 (Tue): Knowledge

Engaging and Sharing Knowledge: Science communication, discussing philosophical essays, Indigenous knowledge systems.

12.08 (Wed): Art & Total Solar Eclipse

Experiencing and Expressing the Total Solar Eclipse: Artists support participants in finding their way of capturing and expressing their experiences.

13.08 (Thu): Action

Talks on Engagement and Activism: Group discussions and guided conversation on how we can counteract the effects of anti-democratic measures on Polar communities.

14.08 (Fri): Reflection

Space for Thoughts: More nature, art, and sharing.

15.08 (Sat): Departure

Drop off at KEF International Airport.

Booklet (1st of Sep - 1st of Nov)

Preparation of artistic (digital + printed) booklet that summarizes the workshop, in words, photographs, graphical records, audio, and other formats. (We will have a graphical recorder on board).
